A letter from Yukti

I was lucky to be born into a Marwadi family, where ‘money’ was always openly discussed with children. At a very young age, me and my siblings were given the task of managing our own ‘bank accounts’. We would eagerly save our pocket money for a few months and make a lump sum deposit in our accounts once in a few months. And that is where it all really began.

In my early twenties, while pursuing MBA, I opened a demat account with Zerodha, and then began the learning. I would pour all of my pocket money into trading – day trading, F&O, commodities, everything. Some trades were wins, but some? huge losses!

My advantage over other beginners ? My MBA gave me all the theoritical knowledge I ever would need to survive in the Stock Market.

And by the end of it, One, I knew long term investing strategies were sustainable and much more powerful than running for short term gains.

And Two, I was good with fundamental and technical analysis, and sure of the fact that technical analysis works well for longer periods of time , contrary to the popular opinion that technical analysis is for trading and not long term investing.
